Oregon summer trip (Day 19) - last day

8/4/11 (Thursday)

We walked to Rolling casino to look around, we found they have free coffee, sofa drink, juice and sweet tea. Their breakfast buffet was $8.50 per person, but if you are over 50 years old, it was 50% off on Tuesday and Thursday.  We filled up coffee and two drinks for Lawrence and went back to the trailer.

Rest Area before Willows before exit 607 had a nice free dump. The last cheap gas we saw was
in Dunnigan Pilot gas cost $3.65. Tom just passed the exit. He might regret later at Vacaville. We could not find the Long John Silver at Vacaville. So we stopped our trailer nearby in the parking lot with Big Lots and other stores so I could cook lunch.  I cook the leftover pork and bread and one can of chil. After we finished eating, Tom and I went inside the big Lots. Tom bought a cheap Champange for $3 only. Then Tom filled up the gas in the nearby Chevon at $3.81/gallon. We got home uneventful. We still wonder where was the Long John Silver.

Oregon summer trip (Day 18) - Grant Pass to Corning

8/3/11 (Wed)

I woke up around 9 this morning. I went to Wally to exchange my eye pen because I bought the wrong color last night. When I walked back, Tom was next to the trailer. Then we walked to the Grocery Outlet next door.  I found the aluminum foil price was $6.99 for 6 (30 feets); Hanes men's crew for $3.99(6 pairs) and Fozen Tuna 2 pak (8 oz size) for $3.29.  After that Tom went back to the trailer with the cold food and I continued to shop at Big Lots next door. While I was looking around the store, Tom called to ask me if I saw any new interesting item.  I told Tom if I see any, I would give him a call. There was a Bottle Tops PK 12 for $3.00 which I want to buy it for a long time. In california it would cost around $8 - $10 dollars.  Then I saw a electric Reynolds Handi-Vac for $3 with 3 bags. I called Tom to come here to see it himself.  After he saw it, he said why not, only $3 we could try it.  So I bought both of the items. When I paid, I got exact change of $1.05 (from Grocery and Big Lots) by coincident. Was that meant good luck? We went back to our trailer and headed to Arco on next lot to get some propane for both of our big bottle. Tom lifted the propane bottle that we filled up at Ukiah and used for 2 weeks and it felt light. He said it was about 1 gallon left. So we filled up both bottles.  (it costed $3.59/gallon, we got 13.8 gallons total). Next, Tom went to Fred Meyer for gas, since I had earned 100 fuel points, I could fill up 10 cents cheaper.  The line was long, so I walked into Fred Meyer while Tom waiting in line for gas. Tom came inside the store after filling the truck. He bought some billado bread that was more crispy than normal.

We stopped at Rogue River rest area, so all of us and both cats could have shower. Tom drove his bike into the camp ground to look for dump. When Lawrence finished his shower, then he showered Odie. Tom drive back with his bike and told us he alreay had a quick shower inside the campground. Tom helped catching Ben Ben as he was hiding deep in the trailer. I took Ben inside the shower with me. Tom drove to Yreka Wally to look around. We bought 8 vac gallon bags. After we shopped, I made ham and cheese sandwich for everyone to eat. Tom drove to Redding Safeway to fill the gas up, gas cost $3.69 -3 cents with card.  I also bought corn 6 for $1 and pork ribs boneless for $5.72.  We did not sleep there although they have free internet connection.  Lawrence wants to sleep at Rolling Casino in the city of Corning.  We got there around 11:20 p.m., the parking lot had a lot of 18 wheeler and only few RVs.

We backed in near the corner next to a class A where it is more quiet. We had soup, corns and boneless pork ribs for dinner. But Lawrence ate the soup only before he went to bed.  Tom and I watched TV and ate our dinner. We went to bed after 1:30 a.m.

Oregon summer trip (Day 17) - Eugene to Grant Pass

8/2/11 (Tuesday)

After we finished our breakfast, Lawrence walked to B&N book store. Tom and I drove to wally to started looking for laundrymat around there. But GPS sent us circling before we found Wally. We drove to Costco then turned south from there. I saw a Safeway, Tom stopped by to see if they have good bread.  Tom was talking with the young man working in safeway store while I was inside the bathroom. Later Tom told me he tried to ask the young man why the bread were not crispy, he said to Tom sometime they are in a hurry that  is why the bread is soft.  The young man asked Tom if he could cooked for him, but Tom told him no need to cook only for him. Then Tom stopped by the Dairy Queen to check on his GPS for laundrymat. A girl employee told us we needed to move, since this parking space was for the pick up parking only. Tom left and go across in Bi Mart to do the check, but there was no laundry showed in the phone GPS. We kept on driving south, but we still could not find any laundryrmat. We turned around to head for Costco to fill out our gas.  I brought my coupon book to shop. I bought several items, such as Move Free with $5 off; 2 packs Bengay with $2 off; Always pads with $2.50 off and rice cooker for $29.99.

We drove back and towed our trailer next to B&N bookstore and I started making lunch while Tom called Lawrence to come back for lunch.  After we all ate, Tom wanted to ride the bike aound the river bike path.

So Lawrence and I went back to B&N to read books. About 1 hour later, Tom called my cell phone and told us we could come back any time. After a while, we went back to our truck and Tom started driving to Grants Pass's Wally.

We get there around 7 p.m. and I bought pork chop for dinner. Tom wanted to buy a dozen donut for next day since they have the kind he like. I went back and started cooking. We had bean and salad, also remaining chicken from Costco and pork chop for dinner. Lawrence went back to Wal-mart countinued to read book. After I washed the dishes, I went inside to shop too. I bought eye pen and face mask for my face. By the time I got back to trailer it was already past 1:20 a.m.  After I washed up, Lawrence came back. Tom already slept.

Oregon summer trip (Day 16) - Eugene 2nd day

8/1/11 (Monday) -  Eugene 2nd Day (first morning)

We dropped off Lawrence at the B&N around 10:30 a.m. Tom searched the yellow page in the mall. Using GPS Tom and I went looking for Chinese Market . It was at 29th ave on the south side, when we arrived we did not see it. We drove around and parked at Goodwill parking lot. As we walked out the lot we saw the Sunrise Asian Market. Inside the market, they have Japan, Korea and Chinese food, kitchen appliances, but their price was very expensive.  We saw the rise cooker more than $100 and water pot is more than $200. They only carried name brand appliances. Tom found bag of ginger for $3.99 (weight 1 lb). Chili Medicated plaster for $2.59/each, I buy two packs. We walked across the road to the Market of Choice. They were just like the World Market in San Jose, but their wine price is very high. I saw one wine bottle cost over $1000 dollars. On the way back to the mall, we passed by 11th street (the same road came from Eugene) and saw Harbor Freight Tools. Tom bought rubber air hose for $12.99; saw blade $3.99; Chisel set 3pc for $3.99 and LED Flashlight 3.5 inch 2 pks for only $2. Then we went back to our trailer put down our stuff, then picked up Lawrence at the B&N. On the way to the main Eugene Library we wanted to eat lunch.  I saw a McDonald next to the road, but we were not decided to eat there yet. Tom drove on and found no more fast food except Taco Bell. We went back but miss the exit 2 times.  We drove around and it took us 10 minutes before we found the same McDonald.  I had Filet-0-Fish sandwishes only; Tom had Big Mac Combo and Lawrence had Angus Mushroom & Swiss. There was a parking lot under the Eugene library, but it costed 75 cents per hour, but after 6 p.m. it was free.  Tom found a 2 hours free parking space. We stayed until they closed at 8:00 p.m.. Tom took a stroll around a few block before 6pm after confirming parking was free after 6pm.

After we left the library. We lost our way on the way to Costco. It was past 8:15p.m. when we arrived. We bought only cooked chicken and oysters for dinner.

There was one more RV on the parking lot. It was a fifth wheel. The class C left this morning was back at the same spot. Tom saw a black dog with the that RVer when she took the trash to dumpster. Tom talked to her and found out she was Desert Diva whose he read her blog all the time. Tom took a few pictures of her and the dog.
