Day 7 - Salton Sea

We went visit Salton City today. The city is about 25 miles away.
Try to go to Font point, but I felt too sandy and turned around after a mile. We stopped by Calcite trail head to talked to a friendly guy Burney from SF driving a small Ford truck with camper. He told us we could drive down the little canyon road down below to start the hike. He just hike the Calcite and the neighboring slot in the morning only took 4 miles in about 3 hours. We went on to Salton City. The city tried to build and sell new house, but I still saw a lot of empty lot. Seem liked the bad economy caused what happen. Stopped by the shoreline of Salton Sea. The water looked very dirty and little smelly. But water was much clear on the other side of the jetty. We went to a new casino 5 miles away to check out overnight camping and dumping. Look good except there is a little slope on the RV lot. Mel stopped by the little market to get some groceries. One of them was being built on the corner of S2 and 86.
