Oregon Coast summer trip - (Day 10) - Coos Bay

7/16/12  (Monday)

Tom called Chi to ask him to call his customer see weather we could give him 10 sets on Monday the 23rd and the other 10 sets 2 day later. So we could extend our vacation 2 more days. He said he would call the customer.

I woke up before 10:00a.m. and feed both of my cats.  I saw the guy (our neighbor Steve Wiggins) was preparing their Road trek to leave. I told Tom to go talk to him before he leaved. He told Tom about his 3 big solar panel totaling 500 watts with three 100 amp hr battery which also link to the house battery whenever needed.

He also explained to Tom the construction of the RV fiberglass floor which was 2 inches lower than the original metal floor to give more headroom.   I took several pictures of his van and Steve with Tom.  We talked for a while, about their summer trip from Florida to Malibu, up Highway 1 pass Oregon coast to would be Olympia National Park. We also talked a lot about his upgrading of their Road trek. Then he told me he needs to go now, he has a dental appointment.  Before he left, he gave us his e-mail address and Flicker picture site name Campskunk.

Tom told me to check to see if the casino's laundry is still open. So I brought my 2 gallon water bottle to fill it up while I was there.  When I was there filling up the water, I found the laundry door was open.  So I went back to the trailer and brought all the dirty clothes and my stuff for shower.  I found that laundry was not free; I needed to pay $1.25 for wash and $1.50 for dryer.  Since I did not bring my money, I took a shower first then went back to get cash.  I called Tom to tell him he should come and take a shower.  Since I have to stay until the wash done anyway,  I told him to bring the bag with shampoo and soap inside.  Tom showed up only with his towel, he did not bring the bag.  I walked back to the trailer and brought the bag to the man room while he was showering.

When all my clothes were done, I walked back to the trailer and Tom told me to check the Class A out which parked next door to us. It is a RV Show from Garanty RV of Junction City.  I went inside to take a look and took some pictures too.

While I took some pictures of this class A, Tom walked in and ask me did you like this style.  I told him it was pretty good.  We walked around the RV parking lot over an hour to check out many RV. Then we walked back to our trailer and had a beef sandwich and Nacho Cheese for lunch.  After cleaned up Tom took me to the Fred Meyer to get refund of the item, which they doubled charged me.  Then we went to the Coos Bay library at downtown (South 6 street and Anderson).  We were there from 4p.m. – 7p.m. until the library close. We drove to park on the major street and strolled along to take some pictures of the busy and old part of town.

We went to fill enough gas in USA gas station next to Walmart for our trip back to Brookings. Tom put in 11.11 gallon for $40.00 (which is 3.59 per gallon).

Then we went in Walmart to shop, I bought a small hair dryer; some more makeup for me; Touch N Brush (hands free toothpaste dispenser) for Lawrence; also Tom bought a new battery for the trailer. It is a 100 amp hr. group 24 $72 battery.  Because our old battery is very weak, so Tom needed to buy one before we started driving back to San Jose.  We still had some fresh water in one of bucket, Tom asked me to pour into the trailer before I started cooking for dinner.  We had crabs and Tuna sushi for dinner.
