Oregon Coast summer trip - (Day 13) - Coos Bay to Bulloch Beach

7/19/12 (Thursday)

We woke up around 10 am. Tom told me that I need to go back to Guaranty RV show to take more pictures of the RV which Jack showed to us. Before that Mel took a shower at the registration office bath/shower room.

We didn't like the Sunstar which have window at top of bed. We like Baystar which have windows on 2 sides of bed, but other things like the single door fridge still does not meet our requirement.

Mel also looked at the older 2003 Damon Intruder that she liked which sold for $45,000.

We hooked up the trailer and went to the paid side of the RV park area to add more water and dump. On the way out of Coos Bay we went to the Safeway to buy French bread. It was on sale for $1.99 instead of $2.29.

Our next stop was Bulloch Beach State Park, it was only 25 miles away.  When we arrived we saw a Class A was waiting in line, so Tom decided to go to the crabbing dock to see if we could get some bait. There were quite a few people catching crabs at the dock.

We look inside the dumpster, there were a lot of fish and the fish parts smell pretty stinky because of the hot dumpster.  So we walked around for a few minutes.  We saw a man holding a bucket walking to the fish cleaning station.  So tom told me to go ask the guy for crab bait.  I grasped the bucket and walked to the man and ask him can I have some crab bait.  He slowly said okay and started putting the left over fish in my bucket. Then we went back to the park entrance, but there is a long line.  We saw a big gap in between the third RV in line, we cut into the space, and no one said anything. Later on we found out that the trailer behind us was already registered, they went inside without waiting. We have site #B21 with water, dump and elect.

Tom set up the awning and the cooking stuff, while I was inside the trailer prepare the BBQ Beef.  When I looked outside I asked Tom why he set up the awning, he told me that he wanted to get some sun for the awning, so it would not get molded.   I put the food out and heard the thunder and told Tom that it seemed like rain is coming.  I moved the chair and the table under the awning.  Next thing we know, the rain was dropping down.  We were getting little wet and cold for having dinner under the awning.

Tom said it would be a good time to catch crab, since it was raining and it would be likely that no one is on the dock.  So we went to the dock with on and off heavy rain, lightning and thunder. The rain had stopped or very light at the beginning. After 30 minutes it rained very hard and thunder and lightning was closer and closer.  We were worried that we were going to get hit by the lightning. So we quickly took few more times of crabs and went back to the trailer.  Our jackets were all wet, we hanged our jackets outside the trailer.  While Tom was cleaning the crab,  I was taken a shower inside the trailer.  After the shower I went back outside to hold the big flash light, so tom could clean the crab good.  Tom wanted to eat the crab, even though it was passed 1:00 a.m. in the morning.
